Description, therapeutic skills, etc. :

I am a bilingual US trained psychologist offering individual psychotherapy and coupe therapy. I practice in Japanese and English.

In individual therapy, I work to provide a safe space where you will be able to express your thoughts and feelings freely. I work with a psychodynamic relational approach, which is to believe that psychological healing process occurs via responsive, supportive, and emotionally attuned relationships. I also take multicultural perspectives in treatment, meaning that I try to understand how we think, feel, and behave based on our cultural and societal contexts.

In couple therapy, I work to provide a safe space where couples can express their thoughts and feelings to each other and hear the other in a non-defensive manner. Couple therapy can be a great way to explore and understand what happens between the two partners so that you can learn to feel engaged with each other even during disagreements.
